Project Details
You can open the details module for a project in the following ways:
When you open the module, it will display with the Overview tab open by default, as shown below for a consultation project.
Each project type has a slightly different details module based on the characteristics of that project type.
- Consultation Project Details: The most common type of project reviewed by SHPO. These typically result in a finding letter from SHPO under New York State Historic Preservation Act Section 14.09 or National Historic Preservation Act Section 106. SHPO also provides comments for CEQR and SEQR projects through the consultation process. See SHPO’s Environmental Review page for more information on these programs.
- Independent Survey Project Details: Building and archaeological surveys that are not conducted as part of a consultation project.
- Eligibility Evaluation Project Details: Requests for SHPO’s evaluation of a historic resource’s eligibility for the New York State Register and National Register of Historic Places. This process does not result in an impact or effect finding letter (see Consultation Project Details above). It also does not result in the nomination of the resource for listing on the State or National Register, though an eligibility evaluation can be a preliminary step before proceeding with a National Register nomination.
- National Register Project Details: Nominations of buildings, structures, districts, or other cultural resources to the New York State Register and National Register of Historic Places. See SHPO’s National Register page for more information on this program.
- Inventory Form Project Details: Reviews of individually submitted records for buildings, structures, and other above-ground resources. SHPO may add the submitted data to CRIS through a new or existing USN record. This process is informal and is not intended to result in an eligibility evaluation, nomination, or finding.
- Tax Credit Project Details: Reviews of applications for state or federal tax credits for the rehabilitation of historic properties. See SHPO’s Tax Credit Programs page for more information on these programs.
All project types share the following elements and tabs. For tabs that are not in this list, see the help topic for the specific project type listed above.
- Header: The primary information about the project will display at the top of the module. This includes the project’s type, number, status, and name.
- Overview: Basic information about the project. See each project type’s help topic for a description of the Overview tab’s contents.
- Submissions: A table of the project’s submissions, including the status, dates, and reviewers.
- USNs: Any USNs that are linked to the project, as well as submitted resources that were included in project submissions. Click the View (magnifying glass) button to open a USN or submitted resource.
- Contacts: A list of contacts who are linked to the project. Click the View (magnifying glass) button to open a contact record. If you are the project’s primary contact and an authenticated user, you may add a contact, edit an existing contact, or designate another contact as the primary contact.
- Photos: Photographs pertaining to the project. Photographs that are specific to built resources are typically included in the submitted resource and USN records, rather than in this tab. Click the View (magnifying glass) button to view or download the full-resolution image.
- Attachments (Atts.): Documentation pertaining to the project. These may include letters, maps, site plans, or other files. Click the download (green arrow) button to open or download each attachment. For consultation projects, the most recent finding letter will be labeled with the attachment type Effect Finding. Finding letters that have been superseded will be labeled with the attachment type Prior Effect Finding.
- Agreements (Agmts.): Agreement documents between SHPO and other stakeholders for project reviews, typically for consultation under National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 or New York State Historic Preservation Act Section 14.09. Click the View (magnifying glass) button to open the agreement record, which will include one or more attachments. Click the download (green arrow) button to open or download each attachment. Agreements are divided into three tabs:
- Project Agreements: Agreements that apply specifically to the project.
- USN Agreements: Agreements that apply specifically to a USN in the project.
- General Agreements: Agreements that apply to a county or MCD in which the project is located, or agreements that are between SHPO and an agency involved in the project.
- Q & A: A table of SHPO questions pertaining to the project. The table includes the following columns:
- Info: The name of the SHPO reviewer who asked the question, the primary contact who was asked, and the status of the question (Asked, Answered, or Processed).
- Token: The Q&A token, which can be used to open the Answer a Question page.
- Question and Answer: The text of SHPO’s question and the corresponding answer.
- Dates: The dates on which the question was asked, answered, and processed.
- Correspondence (Corr.): A table of correspondence records for the project. These may include consolidated responses, effect findings, or notes about correspondence outside of CRIS.
- MCDs: One or more counties and minor civil divisions (MCDs) in which the project is located. MCDs include cities, towns, villages, reservations, and boroughs.
