Search Page

Over more than 50 years, SHPO has collected information on thousands of buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts throughout New York State. These records, as well as scanned documentation and photographs, are available for you to search in CRIS.

In the top navigation bar, click Search (between Submit and Communicate) to open the Search page, as shown below.

The Search page contains tabs for different criteria and spatial search options on the left, as well as an expandable map interface on the right.

The search page consists of a map interface on the right and a pane on the left containing search tools in three tabs.

Criteria: Search SHPO records by text, categories, dates, and other descriptive criteria. These are organized by record type, and there is also a Lookup tab for searching identifying numbers.
Spatial: Search SHPO records by drawing a search area on the map interface.
Results: The results of your search, which you can browse, download as a table, view in greater detail, or zoom to on the map.
