Continue or Edit an Existing Initial Submission

If you wish to complete a partial initial submission or revise a saved initial submission, you may do so through the Submit page. You do not need to be the creator of the submission or a project contact to edit the submission. You may need to continue or edit an initial submission for the following reasons:

Note: If you only want to look at the submission’s contents without making changes, use the View an In-Progress Initial Submission option on the Submit page instead. This will let you see the submission without removing it from SHPO’s processing queue.

If you need to revise a requested submission, go to the My Information Requests or My Consolidated Responses tab on your dashboard to reopen the request, or go to the consolidated response page.

If you are an authenticated user, you can edit an initial consultation submission from the My Submissions tab on your dashboard by clicking the Edit (pencil) button. If you are a guest user or the submission is not on your dashboard, proceed with the following instructions.

To edit your submission, click Submit in the top navigation bar to go to the Submit page. From the Submit menu, select the project type that corresponds to your initial submission. For example, if you have an initial consultation submission, click the Consultation tile. A dialog window will open.

In the dialog, there is a text box for entering the submission token. Copy the 12-character submission token from the “Initial Submission Created,” “Initial Submission Received,” or “Initial Submission Found Insufficient” email. Paste this token in the text box and click the Continue button to reopen your saved submission.

To send the submission to SHPO, be sure to proceed to click the Submit to SHPO button. You will receive a confirmation email when the submission enters SHPO’s processing queue, which should take only a few seconds. You will receive additional emails as the review of your submission proceeds.
