Submitting Proposed Districts to SHPO

Once the consultant has entered all the relevant data and collected street scape photos for a proposed district, it should be submitted to SHPO for approval.

It should be noted that districts should be collected and submitted for approval as early in the survey project as possible. This is due to the fact that buildings that fall within a proposed district are automatically linked to the district based on geography. Moreover, when SHPO loads buildings into CRIS, if the building is linked to a proposed district, it is automatically load into CRIS linked to the district (this saves SHPO effort by having the building linked to the district prior to loading).

To submit a proposed district to SHPO, open the Proposed District details page, and click the Submit to SHPO button . The district will be submitted to SHPO for review and the status will change to "Submitted".

Submitting Multiple Proposed Districts

To submit several proposed districts at once, from the Proposed Districts tab on the Survey Project details page, select (check) the districts to be submitted in the grid and click the Submit to SHPO button .

The selected Proposed Districts will be submitted to SHPO for review and the status will change to "Submitted".

Once a Proposed District is submitted to SHPO, it will either be:

Approved by SHPO (status will change to "Approved"); or,

Flagged as needing further editing by the consultant (status will change to "Needs Editing").

It is important to note that once a district is Submitted, it can no longer be edited.

Unsubmitting Proposed Districts

If a Proposed District is inadvertently submitted to SHPO (and has NOT yet been Approved), the user can "unsubmit" the Proposed District and revert the status back to "Proposed" so that further editing/processing can be conducted. To unsubmit a district, click the Unsubmit button  on the proposed district details page.
